Walk Audit and Social!
Join CMABS for a walk audit, social or both! Meet local Costa Mesans that care about safe streets!
Meet at Moongoat Coffee on Placentia at 1pm for the walk audit. Finish at Moongoat around 2:30pm and social starts at 3pm.
A walk audit is a group walk to evaluate how walkable an area is and if there are any obstructions or safety concerns we can notify the city about. We are doing this to build community and to unite in our efforts to make sure Costa Mesa streets are safe. any and all are welcome!

Latino Health Access, Santa Ana Active Streets and Walk n’ Rollers are hosting a regional active transportation mixer on Thursday, August 29 from 7:00pm - 9:00-pm at Native Son Bar in Santa Ana. Come join CMABS and other active transportation activists in the area as we meet up, swap stories and build relationships across the OC region!
Santa Ana Ave/University Drive/Mesa Drive Bike and Ped Improvements Open House Meeting
Join OC Public Works for an Open House Meeting to discuss POTENTIAL bicycle and pedestrian improvements to the unincorporated areas of Santa Ana Avenue, University Drive and Mesa Drive. The open house will begin at 5:30pm at the Muth Interpretive Center located at 2301 University Drive, Newport Beach. The project is NOT yet on the County’s 7-year capital improvement plan and participation at this meeting WILL factor into future funding decisions. Come by and show support for filling in these critical gaps in the bicycling and pedestrian network!
Santa Ana Bike Lanes Community Meeting
The City of Costa Mesa will be hosting a community meeting at Kaiser Elementary School, 2130 Santa Ana Avenue, Costa Mesa, to discuss the upcoming plan to potentially add Class II bike lanes on the southbound side of Santa Ana Avenue across from Kaiser Elementary, between E. 21st Street and E. 22nd Street.

Community Bike Safety Workshop (City of Costa Mesa)
The City of Costa Mesa is putting on a Bike Safety Workshop on Saturday May 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Senior Center, 695 W. 19th Street. Learn new bike skills, get free helmets and bike repairs. CMABS will be there handing out free bike lights, too!

CicloIrvine
The City of Irvine is excited to celebrate community, connection, and clean air through its first-ever car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to stroll, bike, and roll along nearly 2 miles of streets closed to cars along Barranca Parkway and Harvard Avenue.
Let’s go and support our neighboring city as it hosts its first open street event. If we can help make this event a success, hopefully that will build momentum for a similar event closer to home…
Lillördag Feeder Ride to CicloIrvine
Join the Lillördag crew on a ride from Harbor Christian Church, 2401 Irvine Avenue, up to the CicloIrvine event. Route will stick mostly to off street trails but some street riding might be necessary. Meet up at 10:00am with the goal to roll by 10:15am!

Hopefully we’ll have a new popup and swag with our new logo, but even if we don’t, it will be a great time as we get to know our neighbors, connect with fellow activists and enjoy everything the City’s Earth Day celebration has to offer.
