Walk Audit and Social!

Join CMABS for a walk audit, social or both! Meet local Costa Mesans that care about safe streets!

Meet at Moongoat Coffee on Placentia at 1pm for the walk audit. Finish at Moongoat around 2:30pm and social starts at 3pm.

A walk audit is a group walk to evaluate how walkable an area is and if there are any obstructions or safety concerns we can notify the city about. We are doing this to build community and to unite in our efforts to make sure Costa Mesa streets are safe. any and all are welcome!

Santa Ana Ave/University Drive/Mesa Drive Bike and Ped Improvements Open House Meeting

Join OC Public Works for an Open House Meeting to discuss POTENTIAL bicycle and pedestrian improvements to the unincorporated areas of Santa Ana Avenue, University Drive and Mesa Drive. The open house will begin at 5:30pm at the Muth Interpretive Center located at 2301 University Drive, Newport Beach. The project is NOT yet on the County’s 7-year capital improvement plan and participation at this meeting WILL factor into future funding decisions. Come by and show support for filling in these critical gaps in the bicycling and pedestrian network!

The City of Costa Mesa will be hosting a community meeting at Kaiser Elementary School, 2130 Santa Ana Avenue, Costa Mesa, to discuss the upcoming plan to potentially add Class II bike lanes on the southbound side of Santa Ana Avenue across from Kaiser Elementary, between E. 21st Street and E. 22nd Street.

The City of Irvine is excited to celebrate community, connection, and clean air through its first-ever car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to stroll, bike, and roll along nearly 2 miles of streets closed to cars along Barranca Parkway and Harvard Avenue.

Let’s go and support our neighboring city as it hosts its first open street event. If we can help make this event a success, hopefully that will build momentum for a similar event closer to home…
